Classroom Training Includes:

Getting the best side-scan and scanning sonar system performance and generating the best possible sonar data under all conditions
Using sonar for diver support and safety
Creating baseline sonar surveys of docks, dams and structures for underwater security applications
Understanding sonar resolution and accuracy
Covering operational acoustics and the basic principles that determine target reflectivity and detection
Planning search patterns and grids for side-scan and scanning sonar operations
System troubleshooting
Rigging, repairing damaged cables and completing a waterproof splice

Hands-On Field Training Includes:

Planning and conducting side-scan and scanning sonar searches
Directing divers
Underwater structure visualization for security and baseline studies
Individual and group tasks are assigned and evaluated
